Born in NYC, moved to Israel after high school. Studied classical piano and composition there and was active on the musical scene there in the 80's. Returned to the USA and settled in NYC. Specializing in "world music- hybrids"- bringing together musicians from different parts of the world, both for the musical experience and healing power that can be generated from these moments.
I loved the groove the Edson had created- it's probably my favorite musical situation to add something to an already rich rhythmic texture. I very much had in mind that what I was adding was meant to be a "piece in the puzzle" and that I wanted to leave room for who and what was yet to come. Rhodes is a somewhat organic texture that of tends to feel good. I started coming up with something rather diatonic-ish and so I worked out a few more polytonal progressions to frame the simpler thing that was happening.
